Offline Mode — Fully Offline Live Slide Sync | Immersia

Immersia works fully offline. Every slide, image, and media file loads from device cache — no internet required. No disruption when coverage drops. No stress when the Wi-Fi cuts out.

How offline mode works

Content is pre-cached on your device

When you open Immersia with a connection, every slide, image, and audio file downloads to your device cache automatically. From that moment, your tour lives on your phone — no server, no streaming, no dependency.

Slide sync works locally

When you swipe to the next slide, every guest sees it instantly. The sync engine runs on the device — no round trip to a server, no lag while signals bounce between towers.

Guests join the same way

They scan the QR code, the page opens from cache, and they are in — no app store, no data connection required. The experience loads from their phone, not from a distant server.

Seamless fallback when coverage drops

If the internet cuts out mid-tour, nothing changes. Slides keep syncing, guests keep following, and you keep guiding. When the connection returns, analytics and session data sync quietly in the background.

Why offline matters

You stop mid-sentence — the slides freeze, the guests look at each other, and someone says the words every guide dreads: "Uh, is this thing still working?"
The connection drops and nobody notices. Slides keep advancing. You keep talking. The tour flows exactly as planned.
You build a tour that relies on fast 4G — then discover your walking route passes through a dead spot between the old town and the waterfront
Your tour works in basements, subway stations, rural valleys, and middle-of-nowhere hiking trails. Anywhere your feet take you, Immersia is ready.
You run a museum tour in a listed building with metre-thick stone walls — the Wi-Fi reaches about half a room
Immersia does not care about your walls. It runs from device cache. Wi-Fi is optional from the moment the tour loads.

Where offline mode shines

Walking tours

Historic city centres with narrow streets and thick walls. Rural trails with patchy signal. Immersia works everywhere your feet go.

Museums and galleries

Basement galleries, listed buildings, concrete and steel construction — places where mobile signal simply does not reach.

Bus and boat tours

Moving through zones with inconsistent coverage. Slides keep syncing as the vehicle moves — connection or not.

Remote attractions

Archaeological sites, nature reserves, mountain viewpoints. Anywhere you would not expect a signal, your tour still runs.

Conferences and events

Hotel ballrooms overloaded with 500 competing connections. Your slide sync does not join the fight for bandwidth.

Disaster recovery

Not a feature you hope to use — but if the venue Wi-Fi crashes three minutes before your keynote, Immersia is already running on every device.

How it works under the hood

Immersia is a PWA — a Progressive Web App. Unlike a traditional website, a PWA installs core resources to your device the first time you open it. The service worker intercepts every request and serves from cache first. When you upload a tour, all media is pre-cached on your device. When a guest scans your QR code, the same files pre-cache on theirs. From that point forward, everything runs locally — no server calls for slide changes, no streaming for media, no dependency on a stable connection.

When a connection is available, Immersia syncs analytics, session data, and any offline changes quietly in the background. You do not need to do anything. It just works.

Ready to go offline?

Create a free account, upload a tour, and test it yourself. Turn on airplane mode and run through your slides — you will see the sync still works, instantly, without a connection.
